Salt Lake Drone Experience
(3 spots only) April 12 or May 10

Join an ultra-exclusive aerial photography experience, with Peacock Visuals, shooting a stunning Wheatbelt salt lake location. Western Australia’s Wheatbelt Salt Lakes are some of the most unique and visually stunning landscapes in the world. These otherworldly, abstract patterns come alive from the air, offering photographers an unparalleled opportunity to create fine art prints that stand out.

But great aerial photography isn’t just about flying a drone—it’s about understanding light, composition, and storytelling. This workshop will teach you how to create compelling, high-impact images that go beyond just taking snapshots from above.

And the best part? You’ll complete the experience with a professionally printed A2 fine art print of your best image, proofed and printed by one of Perth’s premier fine art printers.

This isn’t just a workshop—it’s a full creative experience.

“The course I attended with Chad was one of the best professional learning activities I have been involved in. His programme for the day recognised the needs of the attendees and matched that perfectly, the end result was a highly practical and invaluable set of learning activities. I want to thank Chad for his hard work in preparing such a wonderful course and I cannot wait to attend more courses in the future”

FAQs

How much prior experience do I need?

This course will cater to all levels but would best suit intermediate to more experienced level drone pilots and photographers. Participants must bring their own drone with sufficient battery power and memory cards and have a sound knowledge of the basics of drone operation and safety.

What is provided?

From the time we meet up at our first location (Parkerville Tavern) you don’t have to worry about anything. All meals, drinks, transport and light refreshments will be provided. If you have any particular dietary requirements please let us know ahead of time.

Will we have time to edit our images on the course?

Before we head out for the shoot, there will be a short editing and processing session to show you the location we’ll be photographing and also walk you through my editing workflow. This workflow will also be available as a set of video tutorials after the workshop, allowing you to revisit the process at your own pace as you prepare your own images for print.

As this is a one-day intensive workshop and we are timing the shoot for the best light, there will not be a dedicated post-production session after the shoot, as we will be traveling back to Perth from the Wheatbelt in the evening. However, if you bring a laptop, you are welcome to start working on your images during the drive, and we can preview and discuss them at the dinner stop on the way home in Northam.

Do I really get a fine art Print of one of my images captured on the workshop?

Yes! A key part of this experience will be working towards capturing a beautiful image that is print-worthy and will look amazing hanging on your wall (or on a friend’s or family member’s wall). After the workshop, you will have a week to work on your images and send through your best shot for a final proof before I send it off to one of Perth’s premier fine art labs to be printed on high-quality fine art paper. Participants will be required to arrange a pickup time with printer that suits, and framing will be the responsibility of each participant.
